Mary Queen of Scots

Academy Award nominees Saoirse Ronan and Margot Robbie star in this movie about the rivalry between Queen Mary of Scotland (Ronan) and her cousin Queen Elizabeth I (Robbie) for the English throne, the assassination plot by Mary against Elizabeth and the ultimate beheading of Queen Mary. Although there has been some complaint of historical inaccuracies in the movie, such as that the two women were never friends, and they never met in person but solely corresponded through letters, it is a mostly accurate portrayal of two women leaders and how they had to navigate as women in the political climate of that time. Release date: December 7
