Girl Tribe Recommends: 12 Days of Wellness

Once the holidays are done, people are filled with “post-holiday stress.” As a way to combat, try doing  the 12 Days of Wellness Challenge! Below, try following the daily challenges given. These challenges  all fall under four categories:  Fitness, Well-Being, Nutrition, and Community. 

Fitness

  1. Walk a flight of stairs two times a day.
  2. 20 minute walk during your lunch break. 
  3. Do a fitness class at a gym center nearby. 
  4. Stretch two times a day while you’re at your desk. 
  5. Move around once an hour from your workplace. 
  6. Do yoga for 20-40 minutes. 
  7. 30+ minutes of cardio exercise. 

Nutrition

  1.  Eat two pieces of fruit during the workday. 
  2. Have your lunch contain protein, whole grains, and a fruit/vegetable.
  3.  Eat a healthy snack (granola bars/trail mix) before and after noon. 
  4. Drink a glass more of water than you usually do during school. 
  5. Make a healthy treat and give to your family/friends
  6. Double your vegetable servings
  7. Resist eating any sweets/desserts for 24 hours. 

Well Being

  1. Practice deep breathing for one minute twice a day. 
  2. Close your computer screen during a break and rest your eyes.
  3.  Take a break and look outside your window.
  4.  Eat lunch away from where you work.
  5. Wake up 15 minutes earlier than usual
  6. Write down something your grateful for before going to bed.
  7. Take time to call someone you miss or need to thank.

Community

  1. Make your friend a surprise snack.
  2. Donate to care centers.
  3. Donate food to the local food bank.
  4. Give thanks to a teacher, family member, and/or a friend.
  5. Clean or organize your house or shared spaces at school.
  6. Check in on people you haven’t talked to in a while.
  7. Send a letter to the family that lives far away/give them a call.
