The Nutcracker and the Four Realms

Based on the holiday classic, this Disney movie stars Mackenzie Foy, Keira Knightley, Helen Mirren and Morgan Freeman. Misty Copeland (see profile in this issue’s sports section) also stars as “The Ballerina” who puts on a show for the main character Clara, a highlight of the movie. Release date November 2.

Widows

This female-led heist thriller stars Viola Davis, Michelle Rodriguez, Elizabeth Debicki and Cynthia Erivo as a group of widows, who decide to complete the unfinished job of their late criminal husbands.  The movie is a collaboration with Gillian Flynn (Gone Girl) and Steve McQueen (12 Years A Slave) and also stars Liam Neeson, Colin Farrell, Get Out‘s Daniel Kaluuya, Carrie Coon, Jon Bernthal, Robert Duvall and Moonlight‘s André Holland.  Release Date November 16th.

The Favourite

This critically hailed costume drama stars Emma Stone, Rachel Weisz and Olivia Coleman.  Debuted at the New York Film Festival, the period piece depicts Queen Anne’s court and the ruthless power plays that ensued to get in the Queen’s favor.  Release Date November 23rd
