Kitty and Vibe, Peek, And New Beauty Lines From Lady Gaga And Victoria Beckham

25-Year-Old Cameron Armstrong, CEO/Founder Of Online Swimwear Brand Kitty And Vibe Completely Changed The Swimsuit Design And Shopping Process

By Ellie Zimmerman

Created by the 26-year-old girl boss Cameron Armstrong, the swimwear line Kitty and Vibe has a revolutionary size model that is changing the bathing suit game. Kitty and Vibe was inspired by founder Armstrong’s life filled with saggy bathing suit bottoms that never seemed to fit properly. After seeing many of her friends face similar issues with bathing suit fit and inconsistency in sizing, Armstrong was determined to create well fitting, body loving, and secure swimwear. In order for the brand to be body loving and empower all women, Kitty and Vibe includes a variety of sizing choices, including plus sizes up to 2x. Cameron Armstrong measured many women and found their hip sizes identical, (which is how traditional bathing suits are sized) however; the women differed in the sizes of their inseams, which she determined is a more accurate basis of sizing bottoms. This technique based on inseam size or “kitty to bellybutton” as Armstrong named it allows for better fitting suits across the board. “Kitty to belly button” also provided the first part of the name of Kitty and Vibe. Kitty and Vibe’s purpose is to awaken and fuel self love for a kinder world, so the brand sends “intention cards” with each purchase. These cards contain instructions to open spotify, scan a QR code and listen to a “vibe playlist” created by the brand. Your next step is to dance around your room in your new bathing suit to the playlist and get groovy. Armstrong believes that this allows the suit to become “her friend rather than her enemy.” Kitty and Vibe’s reversible, seamless, double lined, and tagless swimwear has become an incredible source of confidence and self love for women of all shapes and sizes.

Two New Beauty Lines Being Launched in September

By Chloe Cornell

There is no shortage of celebrity makeup brands, but the world has to make room for two more! This month both Lady Gaga and Victoria Beckham (formerly known as Posh Spice) are launching their own beauty brands, each of them reflecting their founder’s mantras.

Lady Gaga has revealed that makeup has played an important role in her life, giving her confidence and helped her express herself through the creation of Lady Gaga. She wrote on Instagram, “When I was young, I never felt beautiful. And as I struggled to find a sense of both inner and outer beauty, I discovered the power of makeup. I remember watching my mother put her makeup on every morning, basking in the glow of her power to put on her bravest face as the hard working woman she was. I then began to experiment with makeup as a way to make my dreams of being as strong as my mother become true. It was then that I invented Lady Gaga. I found the superhero within me by looking in the mirror and seeing who I wanted to be.”

When I was young, I never felt beautiful. I found the superhero within me by looking in the mirror and seeing who I wanted to be. Sometimes beauty doesn’t come naturally from within. But I’m so grateful that makeup inspired a bravery in me I didn’t know I had. I’ve come to accept that I discovered my beauty by having the ability to invent myself and transform. They said I was just weird, but really, I was just Born This Way. Love, Lady Gaga

Gaga also explained that this was a labor of love and that she was deeply involved in every aspect of the brand. “Between developing formulas, mixing the shades, designing the packaging and components, as well as casting the models and collaborating on styling, direction, and being the creative director, pulling all-nighters making boards that showed all our imagery and art—this launch is so very special to me,” she wrote. “This is a labor of love and passion to be the Warhol of an artist I’ve always wanted to be. I love everyone who works w/ me @hauslabs we are a family on a mission: to inspire bravery, inspire a positive community that breeds self-acceptance.” She continued, “We want you to see you as you see yourself. Thank you for going on this journey with me. This isn’t just makeup. It’s a battle. A battle for your life. And I hope this makeup inspires you as much as makeup did when I fell in love with it and it helped me discover myself. I love you. We want you to love yourself.”

To make the sort of products that I need in my own life.” Beckham is also committed to clean beauty and sustainability, saying “It’s about being very sustainable, since all the packaging is post-consumer and about keeping the quality high, but being more democratic. So, we are pushing prices a little lower,” she said. The brand will be officially launched in September likely at her show during London Fashion Week, and will be available on her own website.
