The exhibit at the Jewish Museum includes more than five decades of the artist’s work from photography, sculpture, installations and video all addressing gender roles, gentrification, inequality and labor. Through March 3rd.

 

Benefit Auction for Miss Porter’s School, Sotheby’s New York

An exhibit of the all-female-artist benefit auction for Miss Porter’s School.  The exhibit starts February 22nd and the auction will take place on March 1st.

 

“She Persists: A Century of Women Artists in New York” Installation at Gracie Mansion

New York City’s First Lady Chirlane McCray commissioned this exhibit of 44 female and women-identified artists in the public spaces of Gracie Mansion. “This exhibit is really important at this time, given the #MeToo movement, the centennial anniversary of the suffrage movement, the historic number of women running for office,” McCray said to The New York TimesExhibit on view February 4th through December, tour reservations required.

 

Frieze LA

The contemporary art fair is coming to LA in the first inaugural event. Seventy contemporary galleries both local and from around the world will exhibit at the Paramount Pictures Studios. There will also be talks, films and site-specific artists’ projects. February 15 – 17.
