Ways To Give Back During Holiday Season

Ways to Give Back for the Holidays

By Eliza Fogel

As the holiday season approaches, it is a great time to reflect on our year by giving back to others. There is no better way to fully embrace the holiday spirit than by helping out in your community, wherever it may be. One of the easiest ways to give back is by donating on Giving Tuesday. After enjoying the Thanksgiving holiday and spending on Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Giving Tuesday is the perfect day to donate to your favorite charities and nonprofits. All it takes is the click of your mouse and a donation to help out.

For our readers based near Westchester County, NY there are numerous ways one can give back to the community. In Port Chester, NY, one can volunteer at the Sharing Self to sort clothing donations for low income children. Nearby in Elmsford, NY groups can participate in the Community Scoop-A-Thon, a team race to package food items and fresh produce for families in need across Westchester County. In Yonkers, NY, one can volunteer at the Sharing Community which is open every Tuesday – Saturday for lunch all year round. Another great opportunity for giving back in Westchester is at the Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital in Valhalla, NY.
