Girl Tribe Recommends: New TV Shows 2021

In 2020, many TV shows were filmed before the pandemic, giving us tons of shows to watch during quarantine. 2021 is a very different circumstance as many shows weren’t able to be filmed live during the pandemic, or were delayed. However, there will still be plenty of shows released throughout 2021.
There are twenty six new shows planned for 2021. There are several shows in the drama/ thriller category, such as, Inventing Anna, The Old Man, Loki, Scenes From a Marriage, Nine Perfect Strangers, Dopesick, The Dropout, Hawkeye, and The Book of Boba Fett. Inventing Anna, which will premiere on Netflix, is produced by the same producer as Netflix’s top third show in the US today, Bridgerton. There are also many science fiction options coming in 2021, including, Foundation, Cowboy Bebop, Station Eleven, Jupiter’s Legacy, and Alien. Station Eleven, which will premiere on HBO Max (date is to be determined) is about the survivors of a pandemic. Several of the new shows coming in 2021 are based on novels. These include, Pieces of Her, The Lord of the Rings, and Shadow and Bone.The Lord of the Rings will premiere on Amazon Prime Video in mid to late 2021. The Underground Railroad, which will be available on Amazon Prime, will offer a historical fiction option sometime in 2021. If you are someone who loves superheroes, Ms. Marvel, which falls under the superhero fiction genre might be for you. Only Murders In This Building, and, A League of Their Own both fall under the comedy category. Only Murders In This Building will be released on Hulu, while A League of Their Own will be released on Amazon Prime Video. If you prefer scary TV shows, Midnight Mass, and Brand New Cherry Flavor are both new horror shows. Midnight Mass, which will premiere on Netflix, is about a priest who arrives into town, bringing along some horrifying events. In the action genre,The Falcon and Winter Soldier, WandaVision, and What If…? will all premier in 2021.The Falcon and Winter Soldier, will be released on March 19th. This show will follow the events from Avengers Endgame. If you are interested in watching The Falcon and Winter Soldier, it will be available on Disney+.
All of these TV shows will be released in 2021 and will provide entertainment for all. Given the limitations on outside activities during the pandemic, these new shows will provide an important outlet to many.
