Ashley Longshore and Diane von Furstenberg’s joint curated art collection celebrating extraordinary women for International Women’s Month. The artworks feature powerful women who have impacted history including Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Jackie Kennedy, Marlene Dietrich, Cleopatra, Oprah, Gloria Steinem, Whitney Wolfe Herd, Elizabeth Taylor, Nina Simone, Amelia Earhart, Rosa Parks, Jane Goodall and more.  Vintage von Furstenberg heritage prints and clothing designs are depicted in the portraits. Art exhibited at Diane von Furstenberg’s store, 874 Washington Street through May 2019

 

 

Half the Picture: A Feminist Look at the Collection

Feminist artists express their beliefs on political and social issues through more than 100 works, including those from Guerrilla Girls, Wendy Red Star, Andy Warhol and Beverly Buchanan. The artworks are described as “radical and inspiring” because they represent their creators’ hopes and beliefs and advocate for equality. At the Brooklyn Museum through March 31st.

 

 

HBO’s The Inspiration Room

A temporary public exhibit of real women’s diaries, writing, poetry and more to celebrate the diversity of women’s voices and experiences.  March 18 – 24 at 399 Lafayette Street, NYC
